"A Series of Unfortunate Events"???

I was laughing to myself today as I was reflecting back on the past week and for some odd reason the words "a series of Unfortunate events" came to my mind, although Ive never seen the movie or read the book! It has been an eventful week, but one that has made me so thankful for the God that I serve. Just to give a little background of the week- My father was in the hospital for almost a week for what we thought was going to be a second open-heart surgery and then my daughter has had severe headaches for 2 days and then trying to keep the fort down while my husband has been out of town for all of this.
As we awaited the results of testing and a heart cath for my dad I found myself with the desire to want to control the situation (as if I could?!) Trying to figure out what would be the worst case senario and what I could do if this happened or that happened....what I would ask or tell the doctors they should do next etc....Imagine that!!!
As I was going to the hospital on one of those days I was listening to a CD I had just received from church when Tim Jordan came to speak. Talk about a wake up call! He spoke about times when it seems hard to, as he stated"Live by Faith" And that was a gentle reminder to me that this was going to have to be one of those times!
What a comfort to know that I have a living and True God..... He wasn't up in heaven pacing the floor, saying "Hmmmm, what should I do with Dave Pichan?" He has His perfect plan and what a comfort that we as believers have, that when we dont know the outcome of things, or we dont know what is around the corner for us, God does! I can rest in the fact that He is in control, and NOTHING takes him by surprise.
We are called to give our lives to our faithful Creator, who is best to care for us because he created us!
I Peter 4:19 " Let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful creator in doing what is right."
