Back home!

Pastor Doran and I arrived home safely yesterday morning. The trip went as smooth as possible although Pastor was interrogated for the third time by the US customs; I guess he fits the terrorist type.

Pastor Doran, Pearson and Dan taught through the book “For the Sake of His Name.” This conference was well attended, around fifteen local pastors. The conference was bi-lingual both in English and Swahili. All-in-all things went well and the pastors seem to be very receptive and appreciative for our Pastors time spent teaching.

Paul asked me to teach his Jr. Church kids while he sat in the service to listen to Pastor Doran. Here's a picture of the kids I taught, they were a joy to teach.

The Weavers (Joel, MaryAnn and Paul) have such a love for the African people. The Lord truly has blessed their ministry. One of the many things that I learned is that the Weavers are in constant danger. Danger from being robbed or beaten up or hit by a head on collision (driving is crazy out their). Just going to the local market (which by the way is NOTHING like our local markets) can be very dangerous. It kind of reminds me of the stories my brother Jackie (he’s a Marine) tells about his experience in Iraq. Nonetheless, the Weavers seem to be quite comfortable with where the Lord has placed them and if you asked them to come back to the US they would say “no thanks, this is our home”.

Thank you Weaver family for all your generous hospitality. Being there in Africa makes me appreciate our missionaries more than ever. I really feel I can pray for the Weavers and other missionaries more accurately now that I have seen the obstacles and blessing of full time foreign ministries. BTW, thanks for letting us use (and abuse) your internet access!

Thank you for all your prayers and words of encouragement both to me and my wife.
